Justification:
A terrestrial aroid endemic to Ecuador. Known from three subpopulations: one recorded between El Recreo and Agua Amarga in 1897, and recently collected 6 km north of Bahía de Caráquez and in an unknown locale of Guayas province. Considered Critically Endangered due to extensive habitat destruction in coastal forests over the last 50 years. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
