An epiphytic aroid endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from eight subpopulations, most of them in Pichincha province. The type was collected between Pacto and Nuevo Azuay, 15.3 km north of Pacto, in 1986. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species.
