Taxonomic Notes: Synonyms = Boucardicus n. sp. 28, in Emberton, 1996; Boucardicus sp. 17, Emberton et al., 1996; Emberton, 1997; Emberton et al., 1999. Genus Boucardicus Fischer-Piette & Bedoucha, 1965 is a new synonym of Madecataulus Fischer-Piette & Bedoucha, 1965.

This species is situated in two localities, but with a range that is less than 10kmĀ². Although it meets the requirement of Critically Endangered, the two localities suggest that the species is probably only Endangered.

Geographic Range [top]

Range Description:Occurs in Madagascar, Tulear Province: the summit of Mount Mahermana (340 m elevation) and is also found at high elevations (530 m) on the adjacent Mount Teloboko, but nowhere else (Emberton, in press).
