Habitat and Ecology: Shrubs are common in scrub along river banks and on lowland plains on sandy soils.

Major Threat(s): Exploitation of the plant both for commercial trade and at a local level has led to population declines. Field surveys indicate that seedlings are scattered and few. No conservation or protection measures are in place.
