Range Description: A Pondoland endemic in southern KwaZulu-Natal around Port Edward and in the eastern Transkei in the Eastern Cape.

Habitat and Ecology: Confined to sandstone outcrops, as scattered single individuals on sandy soils among rocks on forest margins or streambanks.
Systems: Terrestrial

Threats [top]

Major Threat(s): The few remaining patches of forest are under threat from cutting for firewood and timber, agricultural activities and coastal development.

Conservation Actions [top]

Conservation Actions: There are populations in two provincial nature reserves and a local authority reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, also in a game reserve and a few demarcated forest areas in the Transkei.
