Range Description: Confined to the northern tip of Madagascar the species is known from just five sites.

Population: Although further locations are likely to be found the known populations are evidently very small; only one, at Ambondromifehy, contains more than a dozen individuals.

Threats [top]

Major Threat(s): This region of northern Madagascar is considerably disturbed by fire and the extraction of firewood and timber. Seed predation by rats also appears to be limiting the chances of population recruitment.
