Population: It has been collected or recorded from approximately six localities.

Habitat and Ecology: A relatively large tree occurring in evergreen forest between 500 and 1,300 m.

Major Threat(s): Large areas have been exposed to fires, grazing, the establishment of commercial plantations and cutting for fuelwood.

Conservation Actions: Almost 1,000 km² of forest are now under protection within sanctuaries.
