Habitat and Ecology: A small tree which occurs in lowland to lower montane rainforest up to 1,220 m, sometimes in swamp forest.

Major Threat(s): It is exploited throughout its range as one of the best 'bintangor' timbers. The tree has many other uses; bark, roots and latex are used in local medicine and the fruit is edible.
