Habitat and Ecology: Montane forest and thicket between 2,000 and 3,300 m.

Threats [top]

Major Threat(s): The forest has been extensively cleared and the bark of the tree is also exploited to a considerable degree. Although this species contains the same medicinal extract as M. officinalis, it makes a relatively poor substitute.
