Taxonomic Notes: The plants recorded from India may be a separate species, as Govaerts (2009) says this species is only found in Sri Lanka in the Kandy area.

Range Description: In Sri Lanka, a recent survey identified a total of three subpopulations, occurring in Ratnapura and Kalutara districts. In India subpopulations are restricted to the southernmost end of the Western Ghats, including the Agastyamalai Hills
