Population: In 1995, fewer than 200 adults were counted, along with slightly more saplings and coppices.

Habitat and Ecology: This lower canopy tree is confined to upland dry forest.

Conservation Actions [top]

Conservation Actions: The Muguga population is protected. Ragati Forest Reserve allows controlled exploitation and Thiambethu Farm is a privately run ecotourist reserve. Only three plants have been successfully propagated ex situ.
