Range Description: Tetraodon miurus is known from the Lower Congo River basin (Stiassny, M., pers. obs.), Pool Malebo (Stanley Pool), the Central Congo River basin and from one record from Kaswabilenga, right affluent of the Lufira River, This species is known from upper Lualaba.
