Calotes chincollium has been assessed as Least Concern. Despite having a restricted range, this species inhabits anthropogenically impacted environments and there is no known evidence that it is undergoing a population decline. Because of its restricted range, research into the ecology and potential threats to this species is advisable, as this may help to prevent any future declines of the species.

Range Description: This species is endemic to Myanmar. The distribution of this species is restricted to the Chin Hills, Chin State, and the Ponnyadaung Range, Sagaing Division at elevations ranging from 730 to 1,940 m above sea level. The area in which this species is distributed is approximately 10,306 km2
