Geographic Range [top]

Range Description:This species is endemic to the western Indian Ocean where it ranges from Somalia in the north to KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa). Populations have also been reported from the Seychelles, Mauritius, RĂ©union and are probably found at Madagascar (G.R. Allen pers. comm. 2006). This species is generally found at depths from 30-200 m, although juveniles can be found as shallow as 8 m.
