Justification:
Although poorly known, this species is listed as Vulnerable (VU) under criterion B1 because its extent of occurrence is well under 20,000 km² and the area of occupancy is under 2,000 km², the population is severely fragmented and known from only four locations and there is continuing decline because of the loss and degradation of habitat due to burning for coal production. It could possibly qualify for a more threatened status if the area of occupancy (AOO) were used, however, the AOO based on the four known collections is likely to be a significant under-estimate so it is not certain if the species would qualify for Critically Endangered (CR) or Endangered. Also qualifies for listing under VU D2 because of the low number of locations, and if three of these were seriously impacted by the charcoal burning the species would then qualify for listing as CR.
