Taxonomic Notes: According to Kokshoorn and Gittenberger (2010) for a long time, S. juliana has been considered only a synonym of S. similis.

Range Description:According to Dr. M. Bodon and Prof. Dr. F. Giusti in Kokshoorn and Gittenberger (2010), this Italian endemic species is known from the extreme southeastern part of the province of La Spezia in Liguria, many localities in Toscana, and very few places in Lazio, as far south as the province of Latina.
