Taxonomic Notes: According to Kokshoorn and Gittenberger (2010) for a long time, S. juliana has been considered only a synonym of S. similis.

The species has a relatively large distribution area and the habitat of the species is not effected directly by human activity. Therefore it is assessed as Least Concern (LC).

Range Description: According to Dr. M. Bodon and Prof. Dr. F. Giusti in Kokshoorn and Gittenberger (2010), this Italian endemic species is known from the extreme southeastern part of the province of La Spezia in Liguria, many localities in Toscana, and very few places in Lazio, as far south as the province of Latina.
