This species is endemic to a single site on La Gomera and although the site is not thought to face any threats, there remain the possibilities that some event could impact the site in the future and hence it is listed as Near Threatened, almost qualifying for criteria B.

Range Description:This species is endemic to the Canary islands, in the north-western part of La Gomera. Alonso et al. (1995) note that this species is only known from a single location the Montana de Beguira and probably very localised.
