ANIMALIA CHORDATA MAMMALIA EULIPOTYPHLA SORICIDAE

Scientific Name: Sorex veraecrucis
Species Authority: Jackson, 1925
Taxonomic Notes: S. veraecrucis was formerly considered a subspecies of S. saussurei. Part of the distribution of S. veraecrucis is difficult to distinguish from S. saussurei, and the distributions of these two taxa are not very well differentiated. More taxonomic research is required (P. de Grammont, I. Arellano, N. Woodman and J. Matson pers. comm.).
