This species is listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, presumed large population, its occurrence in a number of protected areas, and because it is unlikely to be declining at nearly the rate required to qualify for listing in a threatened category.

Habitat and Ecology:This species is poorly known. Generally found in evergreen forest, in Panama only above 800 m, and in Colombia and Ecuador in the lowlands (Emmons and Feer 1997).

Major Threat(s): Parts of its range are extensively deforested (Emmons and Feer 1997), although this does not appear to be a major threat at present.

Conservation Actions: It occurs in protected areas. Taxonomic research is needed.
