In the 2006 Red List assessment for Isomma hieroglyphicum, the species was assessed as Data Deficient. New records were available for the previous assessment (2008) from scattered localities in eastern Madagascar from the north to the south of the island. Therefore the species is unlikely to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a threatened or the Near Threatened category. No new records can be added for this assessment. Therefore the species is assessed as Least Concern.
