Habitat and Ecology: This mollusc is found in sandy mud below sand bars in sluggish water.

Major Threat(s): This species is under threat from loss of habitat and deterioration in water quality. There is a potential impact from Corbicula, present in the streams, but the effects are unknown. There is less than 500 km length of river system and adjacent land is being cleared for agriculture.
