Justification:
Listed as Endangered because its extent of occurrence (suitable available habitat) is considerably less than 2,000 km², its distribution (available habitat) is severely fragmented, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its specific forest habitat type in the Mikea Forest.

Range Description:	This recently described species is known only from the type locality of Mikea Forest in south-western Madagascar. It has not been found at an additional four sites with suitable habitat surveyed in the region during 2002, and it is believed to be geographically restricted. It was collected at 80 m asl.

Population:	It is known only from two specimens from the type locality.

Habitat and Ecology:	It is presumed to be a terrestrial species. It is known from transitional, dry deciduous spiny-bush forest. It has been recorded in slightly disturbed forest.

Conservation Actions:	It is not currently within a protected area, however, the Mikea Forest is in the process of becoming a protected area. Further research is needed into the population, biology, ecology, range and adaptation to disturbance.
