Scientific Name: Labeo lineatus
Species Authority: Boulenger, 1898
Taxonomic Notes: Three specimens of Labeo lineatus prove to be Labeo weeksii; another specimen considered by Reid (1985) as a paralectotype of L. lineatus, proves to be conspecific with Labeo degeni Boulenger, 1920 (Tshibwbwa and Teugels 1995).

Habitat and Ecology [top]

Habitat and Ecology: Labeo lineatus is a benthopelagic species. It inhabits lakes and larger rivers (Eccles 1992). Labeo lineatus is lives over mud bottoms close to sand banks. The adults are often captured over sandy bottoms in deep water (Tshibwabwa 1997).
