Justification:
The species appears to be restricted to the Mederes delta, although more data are needed to confirm how far upstream the species can travel. Current known range is less than 100 km². Known only from one location and the habitat is threatened by pollution, water extraction and habitat destruction. Assessed as Critically Endangered.
