| Habitat and Ecology: | Occurs in the intermediate habitat where it feeds by sifting silt from the sandy bottom through its gills, mainly finding invertebrates. Territorial males defend a spawning site in the habitat close to rocks (they do not construct nests). Breeding has been observed in May and June. Reported not to have been exported (1990). Max. size: 13 cm. |
