| Habitat and Ecology: | A planktivorous species preferring clean clear water over sediment free rocks. Females and non -breeding males congregate in the open water in small foraging schools. Males defend sites on large boulders but they neither mark them nor defend them aggressively. Juveniles are released in shallow parts of the rocky habitat. Known as 'Haplochromis munnae' in the aquarium trade. |
