Justification: Population reduction of >50% due to shrinkage in extent of occurrence caused by competitive displacement and predation following the introduction and colonization of Nile Perch Lates niloticus in Lakes Victoria, Kyoga and Nabugabo. Elswhere, locally threatened by increasing water turbidity and eutrophication. |
|
| Range Description: | Lake Victoria system and associated smaller lakes, including middle Akagera, Lake Nabugabo, Lake Katwe and Victoria Nile (Seegers et al. unpub.). Notable absence in Lake Kyoga.
