Justification: Widespread species throughout Lake Tanganyika with no major widespread threats identified.

Geographic Range [top]

Range Description:	Endemic to Lake Tanganyika where it is distributed in the northern part of lake. A second geographic race occurs in the southern part of the lake near Mpulungu. It is also distributed from Lunangwa Bay to Mpala.
