Justification: This is a poorly known species, which has been reported from five localities over about 30,000 km² in northern Oman and the United Arab Emirates. A future degradation of the habitat may be expected in this area due to human demography, which increased from a factor 4 in Oman and from a factor 30 in the UAE between 1961 and 2003 (FAO, 2005 in http://en.wikipedia.org), and the use of pesticide in agricultural landscapes, which constitute a large part of the species habitat. A future ongoing drying up of this area may be expected too, owing to global climatic changes. As a rough expectation, a 30% reduction in the next decade is expected. |
