Justification: Sciotropis cyclanthorum is known from only three localities, two of them in a protected area (Parque Nacional Henri Pittier). Extent of occurrence is estimated to be less than 2,000 km². The genus is endemic to Central Cordillera in Venezuela and the species is threatened by ongoing habitat loss. |
