Listed as Least Concern since, although its Extent of Occurrence is probably less than 20,000 km2, it is common and adaptable with a presumed large population, and it is unlikely to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a more threatened category.

Range Description: This species is known from high elevations of the central Andes (Cordillera Central) in the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Quindio, Risoralda and Tolima, in Colombia, between 2,210-3,000m asl.

Population: It is a very common species.
Population Trend: Stable

Habitat and Ecology [top]

Habitat and Ecology: The species occurs in premontane forest and sub-páramo among fallen leaves on the ground, and in low bromeliads. It has also been recorded from disturbed habitats such as pastureland and heavily degraded forest.

Major Threat(s): Habitat destruction caused by deforestation, agriculture, illegal harvesting and chemical aspersion are localized threats but there are no major threats to the species overall.

Conservation Actions: The range of the species includes a few protected areas.
