| Range Description: |
This species occurs on Cuba, Little and Great Bahamas banks, Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. It is introduced on Jamaica, and in Florida, Alabama (not mapped here), Georgia (Winn et al. 1999), Louisiana (Platt and Fontenot 1993), Hawaii (Kraus et al. 1999) and Guam (Christy et al. 2007). It was also recorded as an introduced species in central Veracruz, Mexico, but it has not been recorded there again since the 1970s and is not mapped here. Its altitudinal range is from sea level up to 727 m asl.

It is mostly terrestrial in mesic and xeric areas, forests, caves, beaches, nurseries, gardens, urban areas, but is found in arboreal bromeliads on Grand Cayman. It breeds by direct development.
