Listed as Vulnerable because its Extent of Occurrence is less than 20,000 km2, it is known from fewer than ten locations, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat.

Geographic Range [top]

Range Description: This species is known only from Beiyang, Lichuan in Hubei Province and Mabian County in Sichuan Province, China, at around 1,830m asl. It probably occurs more widely than current records suggest, especially in areas between the two known sites.

Habitat and Ecology: This species inhabits marshes in forested, mountainous areas. It breeds in pools where the larvae also develop.
