Justification: A tree endemic to Ecuador's coastl lowlands, where it is known from two SUBpopulations. One is in the Bilsa private reserve, within the Reserva Ecológica Mache-Chindul, and the other is in the Río Palenque private reserve. In the Río Palenque flora, this taxa was identified as A. cf. amazonicus (Dodson and Gentry 1978). Apart from the widespread habitat destruction of coastal forests, no specific threats are known. |
