Justification: A shrub endemic to the Ecuadorean Andes. More than 25 populations are known from inter-Andean valleys, where the species sometime grows abundantly in dry areas with sandy soils. Protected by Ecuador's parks network in the Reserva Geobotánica Pululahua. Apart from habitat destruction, no specific threats are known. |
