Scientific Name: Arius uncinatus
Species Authority: Ng & Sparks, 2003
Taxonomic Notes: This species has recently been described by Ng and Sparks (2003a). This new taxon comprises the formerly referenced Arius sp. Ankofia and Arius sp.Lac Andrapongy.

Justification:
It qualifies as Endangered as the extent of occupancy is less than 5,000 km²; it is only known from Lake Andrapongy and the river Ankofia; and habitat loss and degradation continue, leading to a decline in extent of occurrence and in the number of mature individuals.
