Justification:
False-plantain is an endemic species that is restricted to the south-west of West Falkland where it is only known from two farms. This restricted range leaves it vulnerable should there be a change in land ownership.

Range Description: N. falklandicus is restricted to the southern coast of West Falkland. It is currently known from only five 10 km grid squares in two farms.
