Justification: A subshrub endemic to Ecuador, described as a "beautiful plant" by its discoverer. Known from two subpopulations in a small area between Alausí and Chunchi. Collected in disturbed areas, and along roads. Not know to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network and last seen 41 years ago. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
