Justification:
A terrestrial bromeliad endemic to Ecuador where it is known from five subpopulations in Loja province, four of them between Saraguro and Loja and one on the Loja-Zamora road. All the records are of cultivated plants used to mark the borders of fields. Not know to occur inside Ecuador’s protected areas network. It remains in the Endangered category proposed by the IUCN in 1997 (Walter and Gillett 1998).

Range Description:	Puya roseana is endemic to Ecuador. It is known from five subpopulations in Loja province.
