Justification: A terrestrial herb endemic to Ecuador, where it is known from a single 1980 collection in disturbed areas near Baeza. Although there have been intensive collecting trips to Baeza and its surroundings over the last 20 years, the species has not been collected again. Potentially occurs within the Reserva Ecológica Cayambe-Coca and the Reserva Ecológica Antisana. No specimens of this species are housed in Ecuadorian museums. The principal threat is deforestation. Habitat destruction is the only known threat to the species. |
