| Range Description: |
Since this species was discovered by Gonzalez more than 15 years ago, the population has diminished by an estimated 75%. Grows among low calcareous rock outcroppings over a range of 1 km². Current estimated population is less than 500 individuals.

Very threatened by illegal collecting. The location is well known to both commercial and amateur collectors. While the area is enclosed by an electric fence to prevent theft of farming machinery, access is available for a small fee.
