Justification: This species is listed as Critically Endangered as it is known from only seven highly threatened forest patches (with an area of less than 100 km²). It is not clear whether the species may occur in the intervening areas, but the known range is under severe threat, and the existing subpopulations are highly fragmented and there is continuing decline in the area of occupancy and quality of habitat of this species due to continuing habitat loss and degradation. |

| Habitat and Ecology: | This species is found in coastal dry forest and scrub in forest patches usually on east facing slopes and escarpments. It is presumed to give birth to one or two young per year. |
| Systems: | Terrestrial |
| Major Threat(s): | It is highly threatened by the logging of remaining forest fragments. |
| Conservation Actions: | This species is listed on Appendix II of CITES. It has been recorded from the Rondo Forest Reserve and the Litipo Forest Reserve and from Pugu Forest Reserve, Tanzania. All currently known sites of occurrence require improved management. Additional surveys in the intervening areas to determine whether the species is present or not are urgently required. |
