Geographic Range [top]

Range Description: Occurs in both the Coastal Cordillera and Andes in Chile, extending into Argentina. There are still extensive areas of intact forest. The species is little represented in Chilean protected areas.

Habitat and Ecology: The species occurs in moist seasonal forest up to 1,900 m.

Major Threat(s): Most of the lower elevation forest has been logged and converted to agriculture, especially in the northern part of the range, and also to Pinus radiata plantations.
