| Range Description: |
A dwarf ebony, the identity of which has been confused with T. ebenus for the past 170 years. It probably occurred as a small shrub in arid areas of the north under the rain shadow of the central ridge. The genus is made up of just three species endemic to St Helena, two of which are extinct in the wild.
