| Population: | Expected to decline in response to human habitat disturbance. Known from ten collection points in Peru, the surrounding area has been surveyed adequately (Velazco pers. comm.). Considered 'critically endangered' in Peru (Velazco pers. comm.). |

| Habitat and Ecology: | This bat is found from sea level to 1,000 m elevation in the semiarid areas of coastal northwestern Peru. The roosts are under granite boulders and caves. A single young has been found in pregnant females from May to September (Eisenberg and Redford, 1999). |
