The species was listed as Endangered in 2003, and then reassessed as Least Concern in 2006. The geographic origin of the only known specimen is doubted. It is known only from type material of dubious taxonomic status. Requires further surveys and/or taxonomic work and is therefore listed as Data Deficient.
