Justification: Anolis alumina is listed as Near Threatened. This species has a restricted range, where it is known from more than ten locations. Deforestation and urbanization is ongoing within its range, however it is not thought to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a higher threat category. More research and monitoring is needed to ensure this species does not qualify for a higher threat category in the future, particularly if threat intensity increases. |

| Range Description: | This species is endemic to Hispaniola, occurring in southeast Haiti in the Sud-Est Departement and southwest Dominican Republic in the provinces of Pedernales and Barahona. It has been reported from three biogeographical regions, Sierra de Baoruco, Barahona Peninsula and the Tiburon Peninsula. In Sierra de Bahoruco it occurs along the southern slopes, around the eastern edges and in the northern uplands. It has an estimated extent of occurrence of approximately 2,800 km2 and occurs in more than ten locations (Hertz 1976). |

| Habitat and Ecology: | This is a xerophilic species, which can be found in the undergrowth of dense grass and rocky areas of pine savanna, under rocks in hammock woodland, or along the margins of cleared fields in dead Acacia. |
| Systems: | Terrestrial |
| Major Threat(s): | This species is threatened by habitat loss and degredation due to urbanization and deforestation for agricultural land. |
| Conservation Actions: | Parts of this species distribution range coincides with protected areas, for example the Parque Nacional Jaragua. Its occurrence in the Parque Nacional Sierra de Bahoruco is probably marginal at most. More research is needed into the population status, trends and threats to this species. |
