| Range Description: |
Gallicolumba norfolciensis, from Norfolk Island (to Australia), was painted by Hunter in 17902 and described by Latham in 1801 based on this and on correspondence from 1788-17901. Subfossil remains have subsequently been found and referred to this species1.
