| Habitat and Ecology: | The Short-furred Dasyure is largely dependent on mature tropical hill forest, and other reasonably intact forest types (it does not occur in secondary forest). Short-furred Dasyures are found in lower to mid-montane forests below 1,800 m (Van Dyck 2002). They are known to use both arboreal and subterranean nests (Woolley 1989). This species breeds throughout the year and females carry up to four young in the pouch (Woolley 2003). |
| Systems: | Terrestrial |
| Major Threat(s): | Predation by feral dogs are believed to be the only threat to this species, however, it is not considered a major threat. |
| Conservation Actions: | Short-furred Dasyures occur in several protected areas. Further studies are needed into the taxonomy, distribution, and natural history of this species. |
