Citation

To cite The IUCN Red List generally use the following format, changing the download dates where appropriate:

IUCN 2012. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2012.2. <http://www.iucnredlist.org>. Downloaded on 17 October 2012.

To cite a specific assessment, please use the citation that appears at the bottom of the species account page. This generally uses the assessor/s name/s, the date the assessment was done, and the taxon name followed by the above citation. For example:

Leary et al. 2008. Zaglossus bruijnii. In: IUCN 2012. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2012.2. <http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/23179/0>. Downloaded on 17 October 2012.
